Last Updated: 16th July 2020 | Review Due: Ongoing
Farr Physiotherapy takes infection control very seriously and so we aim to ensure that all our patients without exception are extremely satisfied with every facet of their interaction with us, from initial contact through to discharge, especially during these unprecedented times with the coronavirus impacting us all.
With regards to the coronavirus pandemic there are several procedures and checks in place to ensure that risk is kept to an absolute minimum.
Before booking an appointment
If you feel you require the services of Farr Physiotherapy please feel free to contact us via phone, email or message via social media , and we will communicate with you to decide between us what the best course of action for you will be. This will be carried out on a case by case basis, as there are specific guidelines both from the Government and our Professional governing bodies. At present, all patients wishing to book an appointment will require a phone or video consultation prior to attending the clinic. This is in accordance with the guidelines we must follow, these conversations will include a triage and screening for symptoms, to determine if a face-to-face appointment is appropriate at the time of booking.
If this consultation reveals that a remote session is required, this will be scheduled via Zoom or a similar platform and we will discuss the format with you at the time.
The day of your appointment
You will receive an email with an online form to complete, without this form, your appointment will not be able to go ahead. If you are displaying relevant symptoms your appointment will not go ahead and you’ll be advised to self-isolate or refer yourself to your GP or local hospital for further assessment as appropriate. At this stage an online session may be a suitable alternative. Please note, any cancellation due to COVID-19 symptoms will not incur our cancellation fee.
On arrival at your appointment
All patients will be asked to wait in their vehicle, or in a suitable location outside the clinic while maintaining the required social distancing guidance until the clinic calls or texts you to enter for your appointment. Appointments will be staggered to enable cleaning of the reception and treatment rooms, as well as therapists changing their personal protective equipment (PPE) between patients.
When you are called in for your appointment you will need to answer further screening questions and have your temperature remotely taken to ensure your appointment can proceed. If at this time your temperature is above 37.7 degrees celcius or your screening questions indicate the possibility of infection your appointment will not proceed and you will be advised on the best course of action.
On entering the clinic, we will ensure staggering of each therapist’s patient list to ensure there will be no unnecessary contact with other people during your visit. You will be required to clean your hands with alcohol gel. We are reviewing the use of masks constantly, but they will be provided by ourselves if necessary, you will not be required to bring your own.
Beds will be cleaned between each patient as will any contact areas such as door handles. Payments will be via contactless only or online payment in advance of the session.
To limit exposure time for patients and practitioners we will start by having appointments set at a maximum 30 minutes until further notice.
